The concept of The Reserve on Jefferson began as two separate ideas — Old American Traditions, a successful furniture and design store, and Liberty House Tea Room, a quaint bistro that served soups, salads and sandwiches. In the early 2000’s, after a fire forced Old American Traditions to close down, owners of both stores, Marta and Jon Orr had a dream to combine a dining and shopping experience under one roof.
When Mike Wrenn, a passionate real estate investor, heard about Marta and Jon’s dream, he was inspired and wanted to help them succeed. It was an opportunity to build up downtown Kearney and to give the town an experience they had never seen before. After a year operating under one roof as Bistro 105 and Downtown Emporium, the brands were merged and they marketed themselves under one name — The Reserve on Jefferson.
